This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Concours station wagon was modified and refurbished by Luce Customs of New Mexico in 2017, and it was displayed at the 2017 SEMA show. This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Concours station wagon was modified and refurbished by Luce Customs of New Mexico in 2017, and it was displayed at the 2017 SEMA show. The 6.2-liter LS3 crate V8 is linked with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential, and the car rides on Ridetech coilovers and 18″ Rocket wheels mounted over Wilwood disc brakes. The exterior was repainted dark gray and features a custom hood treatment, a power-operated tailgate window, black trim and bumpers, and aftermarket lighting. Inside, the four bucket seats are trimmed in black leather and are joined by a full-length console, custom door panels, cruise control, Vintage Air climate control, and an Alpine touchscreen head unit linked with high-performance audio components.
The exterior was stripped and refinished in dark gray with black and red hood accents by Luce Customs in 2017, and the windshield and door rain gutters were shaved at the time. Details include a power-operated tailgate window, black trim and bumpers, and a domed hood with locking pins and “Chevy Chaser” script as well as tinted windows, aftermarket lighting, and polished quad exhaust finishers. The tailgate does not open to the side.
Gray 18″ Rocket Racing Wheels wheels feature polished lips and are mounted with 245/40 and 275/40 Nitto NT555 G2 tires. The car rides on a lowered suspension with Ridetech coilovers and control arms. The braking system features red Wilwood six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers over drilled/slotted rotors, and an E-Stopp emergency brake unit was installed during the build.
The cabin houses four bucket seats trimmed in black leather with white offset stitching, and a full-length center console houses a Lokar shifter, cupholders, controls for the power windows, and aftermarket audio equipment. A custom dashboard and door panels were installed during the build along with Dakota Digital cruise control, Vintage Air climate control, an Alpine touchscreen head unit, JL Audio speakers, and a Memphis subwoofer.
The padded billet steering wheel sits on a black-painted tilting column ahead of a carbon-look instrument cluster. Speedhut provided the suite of white-dial gauges, and the fuel gauge is not accurate. The digital odometer shows 660 miles, which is said to represent the mileage covered since the completion of the build. The total mileage is unknown.
The seller tells us the GM Performance Parts LS3 crate V8 is a 495-horsepower variant, and it is equipped with an American Autowire harness, vintage-look valve covers, and a BeCool aluminum radiator.
