This Bright Blue Metallic 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 was ordered through the Denver sales office with black upholstery, a Sport Deck rear seat, a Traction-Lok differential, and an AM radio. The car’s original owner blew the factory engine, which was subsequently rebuilt by the second owner. The third owner is noted to have purchased the car in 2000 and restored it over the next several years, which included sourcing and installing a replacement 351ci Cleveland V8. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, who added 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels.
The selling dealer tells us that the third owner restored the car starting in 2002, which included disassembling the car to repaint it in Bright Blue Metallic with silver accents in 2006. The roof was also replaced to correct a previously installed moonroof. The car has dual sport mirrors, front and rear spoilers, and a Ram Air hood. Abrasions are noted on the left-rear quarter panel.
Previously, the car had steel wheels with covers, and the 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels were mounted during current ownership. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The high-back bucket seats and rear Sport Deck seat are upholstered in black vinyl. The AM radio does not work, and a Hurst shifter has been installed.
The steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel-level gauge. Auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 90k miles.
